FAN-TASTIC! THE Irish Football Association has launched the new Carling Premiership season with the announcement of a new goal to boost attendances at matches by 10 per cent annually.

GLENTORAN 2-0 CLIFTONVILLE GOALS from Neal Gawley and Daryl Fordyce handed Glentoran victory over Cliftonville at The Oval in a clash between two of the early front runners.   GLENAVON 2-1 DUNGANNON SWIFTS TONY Grant brought his tally for the season to five with both goals in Glenavon's victory over Dungannon Swifts at Mourneview Park.   NEWRY CITY 1-2 LINFIELD LINFIELD were forced to come from behind to claim victory from this midweek visit to the Newry Showgrounds.   CRUSADERS 2-1 BALLYMENA UNITED TWO last gasp goals from Colin Coates and Jordan Owens saw Crusaders snatch all three points from this meeting with Ballymena United.   COLERAINE 0-1 LISBURN DISTILLERY GLENN Ferguson grabbed the winner for Lisburn Distillery as they condemned Coleraine to a fifth straight defeat at the Showgrounds.   DONEGAL CELTIC 0-3 GLENTORAN GLENTORAN returned to the top of the table, a point clear of the pack, with this victory over Donegal Celtic at Suffolk Road.   LISBURN DISTILLERY 2-1 NEWRY CITY A GARY Liggett strike deep into stoppage time saw Lisburn Distillery snatch all three points from this visit of Newry City to Ballyskeagh.   CRUSADERS 1-3 CLIFTONVILLE CLIFTONVILLE earned the north Belfast bragging rights - and top spot in the Carling Premiership - with this defeat of Crusaders at Seaview.
